Apple II Computer Cake

One of my favorite cakes to make is something fun and unexpected!  Who would expect a Apple II computer as a groom’s cake?  It actually wasn’t to difficult of a shape to make, it was a pretty boxy design.  However, it required quite a bit of research and it did take a lot, a LOT, of cake.

Complete with external memory drive, which was apparently the ONLY memory at the time.

The keyboard and logo were hand painted!

Never forget about the back of the cake, ( it may not be quite as accurate as the front, but you get the idea!)

Also, The cake was so heavy I was worried that the shelf wouldn’t hold it up so I piled up a bunch of Styrofoam cake dummies to help support it!

The Wawa Cake!!

Wawa Cake

For those of you who do not live in the greater Philadelphia area you may not know about Wawa.  Well Shame on you!  Wawa is a wonderful place to get a hoagie, a coffee or slightly cheaper gas.

Apparently it is also a place to fall in love.  This cake is a groom’s cake for a wedding for a Bride and Groom that met at Wawa.

Shark Cake

This cake was made for Lauren and Brian on their wedding day.  Brian  apparently loves sharks and JAWS so Lauren thought he would love a shark cake.  And when Brian loved my carrot cake at another friends wedding we knew what flavor it should be.  Despite a friend telling me that the teeth were a little too menacing for a wedding they LOVED the cake!ImageImage

Phillie Phanatic Cake

This cake was made for my good friends Chad and Lauren.  The cake was a surprise for the groom,  the actual Phanatic showing up was a surprise for the bride!  It was a huge challenge but I am happy with how it came out.  And every bit is edible.  All cake and Cereal Treats with a skeleton of wood and PVC pipe underneath.
